restaurants in Pissouri contribute greatly to the overall popularity and charm of the village.

There are such an abundance of excellent restaurants in Pissouri it is quite feasible to enjoy a wonderful meal in a different establishment every night.

Obviously I have my favourites (which I'll let you know about loud and clear as we proceed) but I can honestly say I haven't had any bad reports about the restaurants recommended here.

Ok let’s deal with the restaurants up in the main village first. It's worth mentioning here that all these restaurants (bar Hillview) are situated on or around the square. So here are my recommendations for restaurants in Pissouri(hill top village)

Vraka restaurant Pissouri The Vraka

This restaurant is the quintessential Greek taverna. It's situated on the most prominent corner of the square and is one of the best paces to book a table for the Wednesday village 'Greek night'. Though they have a broad menu, I would recommend a meze (a selection of typically Cypriot dishes). Be sure to try the Halloumi (goats cheese), its excellent and made in the village.

The hideaway restaurant Pissouri The Hideaway

Directly round the corner from the Vraka and next door to the Sparti pub, the Hideaway does exactly that. In fact if you don't know where to look you could be forgiven for missing it all together. Take my advice and be sure to locate this narrow courtyard restaurant early in your visit. You'll want to eat thee more than once I'm sure. The service is good, the foods great and Mediterranean ambience oozes from the courtyard walls....

The Bunch of Grapes Pissouri the Bunch Of Grapes

This is one of the restaurants in Pissouri that put the village on the map, particularly for the islands expat community, many years ago. I've known people travel from all over the island to eat here at the weekend. In the summer the tables are arranged throughout the gorgeous courtyard garden and in the winter you eat inside in a cosy tradtional village setting. The menu has good variety of local and international dishes complimented by an extensive wine list. If you have a special occasion or celebration while you’re in the village book a table here.

You'll find the Bunch of Grapes off the left hand of the square as you face the sea.

The Hillview Restaurant Pissouri Hillview

This one is a bit special and a favourite with both local and expat village residents so I recommend booking a table. The international a la carte menu is a delight (the only problem being what to choose!) and the Sunday Lunch Carvery is a ritual for those in the know. The only thing that comes close to competing with the food is the fantastic view so if you get the chance secure a balcony table.

The Hillview is situated on a ridge above the square and has extensive views across the entire valley.

To add to your dining choices here are my recommendations for restaurants in Pissouri bay.

Limanaki

I've started with my favourite the Limanaki click this link to visit their website.

Owner/executive chef Sam Kazzaz successfully delights his diners with a fusion of Lebanese and Greek Cypriot flavours. This small restaurant is tastefully decorated and the staff unobtrusively attentive. The real star however is the food. Vibrant colours and excellent presentation make it as much a feast for the eyes as it is the palette. The creative but well balanced flavour combinations are delicious and exciting. The menu isn't as extensive as other establishments but every dish on offer is prepared and presented to Sams extremely high and exacting standards.

The Limanaki is situated at the head of the cobbled walk way that leads to the beach.

The Captains Bay Pissouri Bay Captains Bay

A long standing established restaurant looking out directly onto the Pissouri Bay Blue flag beach is a favourite with holiday makers offering a wide selection of local and international dishes.

The Yialos Fish Restaurant Pissouri Bay Yiallos

This is the place for fish in the Bay. Their fish meze is a great way to try the various Cyprus fish dishes and a portion of Calamari with salad and fries is a great supper or lunch dish if your appetite doesn't stretch to the full meze.
