As most people arrive and leave Cyprus via Larnaca International Airport, maps of Larnaca area are important for obvious reasons. If you plan on picking up a car the following area maps clearly show the route in and out of the airport to all island regions. Larnaca Area Map Larnaca Town Map If up to now you've only considered landing or taking off from Larnaca add a couple of hours into your next trip and take the time to check out the tranquillity of Sultan Tekke on the shores of Larnaca salt lake (pictured above). This important Muslim shrine set in lush grounds (only minutes from the airport) was built in memorial to the Prophet Mohammed's Wet nurse, believed to have been killed at the sight during the first Arab raids on Cyprus. There are some religious niceties to consider regarding dress code but the complex is open to all and well worth a visit. If you're lucky you may visit on a day when the flamingos are in residence along the shores of the salt lake.
