Cyprus Weddings come to Limassol.

Four seasons Hotel Limassol Wedding Chapel

Limassol caters for Cyprus weddings in style. Whether it's a small intimate affair or a large celebration Limassol has the venue to suit.

It may seem that Limassol has been forgotten as the wedding march rings out across the island with most brides opting to have their weddings in Paphos. However Limassol, with its excellent choice of venues, superb luxury hotels and plethora of florist, cake and transport providers is actually the ideal location for a Cyprus wedding.

I'm slightly biased as it is where I got married 12 years ago but trust me you won't be disappointed!

Let’s start with the various wedding ceremony venues Limassol has to offer.....

For municipality civil weddings you have the choice of :-

Ayios Athanasios limassol Agios Athanasios- The Cultural Centre at Agios Athanasios (approximately 100 years old) has always been at the heart of this traditional Cypriot community as it was originally the village school. It’s been sympathetically renovated to create an ideal setting for Cyprus weddings and it's only a short drive from the centre of Limassol, so is ideal for those planning a reception at one of the beach front resorts, restaurants or tavernas.

The civil service can be arranged directly with the Department of Civil Marriages of Ayios Athanasios Municipality:

42 Stavreatou tou Machera Str

4104 Ayios Athanasios

T:+357 25724135

F:+357 25725010

email: demos.ayios.athanasios@cytanet.com.cy

www.ayiosathanasios.org.cy

Working days and hours: Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 2:30pm and Thursday afternoon from 3:00pm to 6:00pm (except for July and August)

The service is included in the cost of the wedding license. Please see

the Legal Bit for everything to do with getting your license and fees.

Yermasoyia Cultural Center (also spelt Germasogia) - situated in the center of this pretty Cypriot village; only moments from the center of Limassol, this venue has heaps of Mediterranean charm. Beautifully converted from a traditional village house the building and gardens now play host to glorious Cyprus weddings all year round.

Yermasoyia Cultural center The ceremony takes place in a traditionally decorated room with doors opening to the well planned gardens where there are some lovely photo opportunities. This is where I had my civil ceremony 11 years ago and close family friends were married there in October last year. (We’ll be adding our Real Cyprus wedding stories soon.) You can arrange to have your Cyprus wedding at this venue by contacting the

Yermasoyia Municipality

email: yermasoyia.municipality@cytanet.com.cy

Yermasoyia civil wedding venue Limassol The service is included in the cost of the wedding license. Pre book your appointment with the municipality wedding officer to finalize all your license paperwork when you contact them to book your wedding date. Remember you are advised to be on island at 'least' 3 days before your wedding day to clear all the paperwork process and have your license. See the legal Bit for more information.

Religious ceremonies for Cyprus weddings are also possible in Limassol. I have included two Limassol Churches where you can organize a traditional wedding service with organist.

St Barnabas Church Limassol St Barnabas Anglican Church - is well situated in the center of Limassol and as the name suggests is available for Anglican ceremonies. This traditional church also offers the services of an organist for your ceremony if pre-booked and at an additional cost. I had my wedding blessing here after the civil ceremony in Germasoyia.

Last Night of Freedom - For Stag and Hen Parties

Many of you may dream of something a little more relaxed full of Mediterranean charm. There are several gorgeous resort hotels in Limassol that offer superb facilities for a Cyprus wedding.

The ones I have included below have their own chapels within hotel grounds.

Four Seasons Hotel Limassol wedding chapel Four Seasons Limassol - weddings take place in the wonderful St George's Chapel or in the hotels wedding pergola. The chapel is based on traditional Greek Orthodox design providing a wonderful Mediterranean feel but offers a unique setting for Catholic, Anglican and civil Cyprus wedding ceremonies and blessings. The chapel itself can accommodate up to ten seated guests with additional seating on the lawns in front for your extended wedding party. Wedding receptions can be arranged on the lawns in front of the chapel after the ceremony and of course wedding dinners can follow in one of their many private function areas. The hotel provides comprehensive information about weddings at the Four Seasons on their website and accompanying pdf files.
